The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

Every fall, our congregation fills shoeboxes with school supplies, hygiene items, toys, and small gifts for a boy or girl in a specific age group. Each box is packed with prayer, and many of us tuck in a personal note or photo so the child knows someone far away cares about them.

For many children, a shoebox is the first gift they have ever received. It opens the door for local churches to invite them and their families into a discipleship program, where they learn who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him.

Last year, Union Chapel packed 300 shoeboxes. Packing boxes together has become a joyful tradition here for families, small groups, and anyone who wants to help. If you would like to join in, pack a box, or give toward shipping, talk with us on a Sunday or contact the church office.

“Let the little children come to me.” (Matthew 19:14)
