Sunday, September 13, 2026 – Union Chapel Homecoming Worship & Picnic

Greetings and blessings to all our Union Chapel members, friends, and all who have connected with us over the years!  This year on Sunday September 13^th at 10am, we will celebrate a church homecoming, themed, “Faithful Servants Through the Years.” A church homecoming is a special annual service and celebration that functions like a church family reunion. It brings together current members, former members, and past pastors to fellowship, worship, and share a large communal potluck meal. We are beginning to plan for our special day now and ask you to:

 1) reserve and prioritize that date

2) invite a friend or neighbor, start asking now

3) plan and sign up for the side dish and or dessert you will bring (chicken will be provided along with Don Wright’s homemade “speedys” on his homemade bread)

4) write or type a paragraph of a memory, a story, or personal thoughts about Union Chapel and your connection to be compiled and shared with everyone.  Get those to Dave Pruitt when you can, not later than August 30, 2026.

            The music group Cacapon Ridge will be with us that day for worship, perhaps a special speaker too (we are working on it), a special viewing of the last Homecoming at Union Chapel done in 1994, it is very special to see folks no longer with us be interviewed and talk about their time at Union Chapel.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful to create a video this year, maybe you could help plan that.  What other ideas might you have for this day, let me know.

            This is the start of something wonderful, please join us to celebrate all God has done, is doing, and will do….. HOMECOMING 2026, FAITHFUL SERVANTS THROUGH THE YEARS.
